DBR Franchising, LLC (“DBR”) is the franchisor for the HouseMaster® home inspection franchise system. DBR respects and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) discloses how DBR collects, protects, uses and shares information gathered about you on the HouseMaster® Blog.

• Personally Identifying Information – Except as described herein, the HouseMaster® Blog does not require user registration to access content. To post on the HouseMaster® Blog, users are required to register, which includes providing your name and email address. This information may personally identify you. "Personal information" is information that can be associated with a specific person and can be used to identify that person.

This information is gathered on a voluntary basis for the sole purpose of posting on the Blog and thus better serving you. This information may be used and shared in conformity with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. You may choose not to provide personal information and you still will be able to visit the HouseMaster® Blog and main HouseMaster website. The following items/site features are examples of content on the main HouseMaster® website where personal information may be sought:

The advertiser normally already has this information as a result of the user clicking on the advertisement. No additional information about the visitor is supplied to the advertiser. The log files are eventually deleted.

As a franchisor, DBR will share information received on its website with HouseMaster® franchisees and/or its affiliate, HI Training, LLC d/b/a National Institute of Building Inspectors (“NIBI®”). Franchisees have their own sub-websites, which are accessible from the HouseMaster® main website. This Policy does not specifically govern franchisees’ use of any information they obtain. All HouseMaster® franchisees are independently owned and operated businesses. Franchisees are required to follow all applicable privacy laws. DBR maintains a strict “No-Spam” policy, which means we do not sell your personally identifying information to other companies or individuals except as may be permitted by this Policy. Such information may be shared in any of the following limited circumstances:

• We have your consent;
• Law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties when:
  • we are required by law, including to comply with a judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process; and

DBR takes appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. DBR is concerned about the privacy and safety of children when they use the internet. DBR will never knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. Our website is for a general audience and is not targeted to or intended for use by children. If children do send personal information to DBR, such as writing to Santa, newsletter registrations, etc., the information is deleted. Note that DBR cannot always determine that a user is a child.
